Custom 8 × 8 m Lighting Exhibition Booth Truss Design for a Trade Show
Introduction
Exhibition booths are more than temporary display spaces—they are powerful marketing tools that help companies showcase their products, strengthen their brand image, and attract potential customers.
For this project, Dragon Stage worked with a lighting manufacturer that required a customized truss structure for an 8 × 8 m standard exhibition booth. The client wanted a clean, modern design that would highlight their lighting products while remaining easy to transport, assemble, and reuse for future exhibitions.
Using a combination of circular and square truss structures, we developed a modular Event Truss System that balanced visual impact with practical functionality.
Project Requirements
Before starting the design, the client provided several key objectives:

Rather than using a conventional exhibition booth frame, the client chose a custom aluminum truss system to create a more open and professional appearance.
Structural Design Concept
The centerpiece of the booth is a circular truss positioned within a square truss framework.
This combination serves both aesthetic and functional purposes.
The circular truss creates a visual focal point that immediately attracts attention, while the surrounding square frame provides additional hanging positions for lighting fixtures, promotional displays, and branding elements.
The modular design also allows the booth layout to be adapted for future exhibitions with minimal modifications.
Lighting Demonstration Area
One side of the circular structure was designed as the primary product demonstration area.
A lighting display wall was installed together with programmable moving-head fixtures capable of creating dynamic lighting effects such as rotating beams and circular patterns.
This arrangement allows visitors to experience the lighting products under realistic operating conditions while keeping the booth layout clean and organized.

Although exhibition booths appear lightweight, the supporting structure must safely carry multiple suspended loads.
