The IP (ingress protection) protection level system is drafted by IEC (International Electronic Communication). Classify lamps according to their dust-proof and moisture-proof characteristics.
Foreign objects (including tools) and human fingers shall not touch the live parts in the lamps to avoid electric shock.
The IP protection grade is composed of two numbers. The first number represents the solid protection grade, the grade to prevent the invasion of dust and other foreign objects, and the second number represents the liquid protection grade, the sealing degree to prevent moisture and water invasion. The larger the number, the higher the protection grade.
Solid protection grade
0: no protection / no special protection.
1: Prevention of solids > 50mm / large areas of human body such as hands (no protection against conscious contact), solids > 50mm in diameter.
2: Solid / finger or the like with a length of no more than 80mm and a diameter of more than 12mm shall be prevented.
3: Prevent solids > 2.5mm / tools, wires, etc. with a diameter or thickness greater than 2.5mm, and solids with a diameter > 2.5mm.
4: Prevent solids > 1.0mm / wires or sheets with a diameter greater than 1mm and solids with a diameter greater than 1mm.
5: Dustproof / does not prevent all dust from entering, but the amount does not hinder the normal operation of the equipment.
6: Dust tight / no dust entering.
Liquid protection grade
0: no protection / no special protection.
1: Anti dripping / vertical dripping shall have no harmful effect.
2: 15 ° anti dripping / when the equipment is at an angle of 15 ° with the vertical line, the dripping shall have no harmful effect.
3: Water spraying prevention / water spraying at an angle of 60 ° with the vertical line shall have no harmful effect.
4: Splash proof / water splashing in any direction shall have no harmful effect.
5: Anti flushing / flushing in any direction shall have no harmful effect.
6: The water entering the casing shall have no harmful effect in case of strong sea wave / strong sea wave or strong flushing.
7: Anti immersion water / after immersion in water with specified pressure for a specified time, the amount of water entering shall have no harmful effect.
8: Anti diving / able to dive for a long time, completely sealed, without harmful impact on water inflow.
