20m Wide Curved Roof Truss System for Large Event Stages

This custom 20m wide × 14m deep × 10m high curved roof truss system combines a large main roof structure with six supporting truss towers and two independent side wings for line array systems.

The main structure uses multiple curved roof trusses running across the stage depth, connected by longitudinal truss sections to form the complete roof framework. Compared with a simple four-tower roof, the six-pillar arrangement provides additional structural positions along the 14m stage depth and forms a larger modular framework for the overall stage roof configuration.

The two side wings extend beyond the main roof structure and are intended for line array system integration. Each wing is approximately 2m wide and incorporates a manual hoist arrangement as specified for this configuration.

For other standard and customized event roof configurations, see our Roof Truss systems.

Curved Main Roof Structure

The most distinctive part of this system is its multi-bay curved roof configuration.

Instead of using only straight horizontal roof beams, curved truss sections create the arched roof profile shown in the structure drawing. Multiple curved transverse trusses are connected along the stage depth to form the main roof framework.

This type of configuration can be selected when a project requires both a large covered stage area and the visual profile of an arched event roof.

Customers looking specifically for this structural form can also review our Typical Curve Roof Truss System range.

Six-Tower Main Support Configuration

The main roof is supported by six vertical truss towers positioned along both sides of the stage structure.

This differs from a simpler four-column roof system. For a structure extending approximately 14m in depth, the additional tower positions become part of the overall roof layout and connection arrangement.

DragonTruss manufactures tower sections and related components for different temporary truss configurations. More tower and pillar configurations can be found under Truss Towers & Pillars.

The exact tower configuration, stabilization method, and ground interface for an actual installation must be determined according to the final project requirements and site conditions.

Two Side Wings for Line Array Systems

In addition to the main curved roof, this configuration incorporates two side wings, one on each side of the stage.

Each wing is approximately 2m wide and is intended to provide a separate position for a line array system.

The configuration specified for this product uses manual hoists.

Separating these positions from the central roof structure also gives the project a clearer functional layout:

  • Main roof for the central stage area

  • Left wing for line array equipment

  • Right wing for line array equipment

  • Independent lifting positions for equipment installation

The actual equipment weight and required lifting capacity must be confirmed before manufacture and installation. The product dimensions alone should not be treated as confirmation of allowable suspended loads.

Modular Aluminum Truss Construction

The complete system is assembled from multiple aluminum truss components rather than being manufactured as one permanent structure.

This modular approach makes it possible to manufacture, transport, assemble, dismantle, and reuse the system as a temporary event structure.

Typical component groups include:

  • Straight aluminum truss sections

  • Curved roof truss sections

  • Vertical tower sections

  • Roof connection components

  • Tower connection components

  • Side-wing truss sections

  • Hoist-related installation positions

  • Base and stabilization components

For the broader product family, see our Aluminum Truss range.

For touring productions where repeated assembly, dismantling, transport, and modular reuse are important, our Temporary Stage Truss Systems for Touring Productions explains the wider system logic.

More Than a Standard Roof Truss Product

A structure of this size should not be treated simply as a collection of standard straight truss lengths.

The 20m × 14m × 10m configuration involves several systems that have to work together:

curved roof geometry → longitudinal roof connections → six tower positions → side wings → line array positions → lifting arrangement → base and stabilization system.

This is why DragonTruss treats large roof structures as complete truss configurations rather than simply supplying individual pieces.

If your project has a different width, depth, roof curvature, tower arrangement, or side-wing configuration, see our Custom Truss manufacturing options.

Typical Applications

This type of large curved roof truss system is primarily intended for temporary event structures such as:

  • Concert stages

  • Music festivals

  • Live performances

  • Touring productions

  • Public events

  • Large outdoor event stages

For examples of how truss, stage, lighting, sound, and other temporary infrastructure come together in live production environments, see our Concert Event application page.

Custom Manufacturing Information

The dimensions shown here represent this particular product configuration:

20m width × 14m depth × 10m height

DragonTruss can manufacture related curved roof truss systems according to different project requirements.

Before preparing a customized configuration, the useful information normally includes:

  • Required stage or roof width

  • Required depth

  • Required overall height

  • Roof shape

  • Number and position of towers

  • Line array requirements

  • Lighting and other suspended equipment information

  • Roof covering requirements

  • Installation environment

  • Available drawings or reference images

Providing this information allows the truss components and overall configuration to be discussed around the actual project rather than simply enlarging or reducing an existing structure.

Important Engineering Note

The dimensions and configuration described on this page are product and manufacturing information, not a structural engineering approval for another project.

For an outdoor roof truss system, actual structural suitability depends on project-specific factors including the final configuration, suspended equipment, roof covering, installation method, environmental conditions, ground conditions, and stabilization or anchoring arrangement.

Load capacity, wind resistance, ballast, anchoring, and other safety-critical parameters should therefore be determined from the actual project requirements rather than inferred from this product image or dimensions.

FAQ

Can the 20m width and 14m depth be customized?

Yes. Curved roof truss systems can be manufactured in different dimensions and configurations. The required roof size, height, tower arrangement, and application should be confirmed before production.

Why does this system use six main towers?

This particular 20m × 14m configuration uses six main tower positions as part of its overall structural layout. This should be understood as a feature of this configuration, not as a universal rule that every roof of similar size requires six towers.

What are the two side wings used for?

The two approximately 2m-wide side wings in this configuration are intended for line array systems and use manual hoists as specified for the project.

Can lighting equipment also be integrated into the roof truss?

Lighting and other event equipment can be considered when developing the truss configuration, but the equipment information and suspended loads must be provided for project-specific evaluation.

Does the system include a roof cover?

A roof cover is not confirmed in the information provided for this product, so it should not be assumed to be included. Roof covering requirements can be specified separately when developing a customized system.
