there is no doubt that the U.S. people shall spend more money on importing goods from other countries ever before since August 1, 2021.

these days, the shipping companies sent notice and letter to remind us that from  August 1 shipping companies will implement a U.S. Port Congestion Surcharge.

Please be aware of the latest shipping notice.

With the consistent congestion in USA and Canada, Shipowner will implement Port Congestion Surcharge and Destination Delivery Charge.

Port congestion surcharge has been implemented by CMA/MSC/ZIM. Other carriers going to announce soon.

This surcharge will be collected at destination.

Effective August 1, CMA will implement a U.S. Port Congestion Surcharge of $800/1000/1100/1266 per 20’ST/40’ST/40’HQ/45’ST. 

The scope of this surcharge will affect all cargoes from South East Asia, North East Asia, Russia Far East, North China, Central China, Hong Kong and South China ports of load to U.S. West Coast, U.S. East Coast, U.S. Gulf Coast, and Dutch Harbor Ports of Discharge. Please refer to the below screenshot of tariff for full surcharge details. We will circulate the official notice once received from CMA. Thank you.
