1270x900mm Wide 5-Channel Cable Protector Ramp with Hinged Cover for Wheelchair & Pedestrian Crossings

Product Information

Product Description

This wide cable protector ramp is designed for temporary event environments where cables must cross an area used by pedestrians, equipment carts or wheelchair users.

Unlike a conventional narrow cable protector, the overall ramp width reaches approximately:

900mm / 35.4in

while the overall height remains approximately:

60mm / 2.36in

The wider sloped approach on both sides creates a more gradual transition over the protected cable area.

A hinged yellow cover provides access to the central cable channels so cables can be installed or removed without lifting the complete ramp.

Wide Ramp Design for Easier Crossing

The main difference between this product and a standard compact cable protector is the width of its approach ramps.

The illustrated configuration provides approximately:

505mm / 19.88in side-ramp area

on each side of the central cable section.

This creates a longer transition from floor level to the top of the protector.

It can be useful in areas where the crossing route may be used by:

• pedestrians

• wheelchair users

• equipment carts

• flight cases

• trolleys

• event staff

The product should not be represented as compliant with any particular accessibility regulation unless the required certification or dimensional verification is available.

5 Cable Channels

The central section provides multiple protected cable routes.

Each channel is specified at approximately:

46mm wide × 46mm high

or:

1.81 × 1.81in

This makes the product suitable for organizing several cables through the same crossing point.

Typical cable types may include:

• power cables

• speaker cables

• audio multicore cables

• network cables

• signal cables

• lighting-control cables

• temporary event wiring

Before purchasing, customers should check the outside diameter and quantity of their cables rather than relying only on the number of channels.

Hinged Yellow Cable Cover

The yellow central cover can be opened to access the cable channels.

This makes installation more practical because cables can be placed into the channels from above.

After the cables are positioned, the lid can be closed to create a more continuous crossing surface.

The contrasting yellow color also makes the cable-protection area easier to see within an event environment.

Textured Walking Surface

The black ramp sections use a raised tread pattern.

This provides additional surface texture compared with a completely smooth panel.

The same tread pattern is visible on the yellow central cover in the closed position.

For event use, the actual surface condition should still be checked before installation, especially where floors may become wet, dusty or contaminated.

Low 60mm Profile

The overall height is approximately:

60mm / 2.36in

A lower-profile crossing can be easier to integrate into pedestrian routes than a taller conventional cable protector.

However, the 60mm height should still be considered when planning routes for:

• wheelchairs

• small casters

• production carts

• road cases

• other wheeled equipment

Wheel size, total equipment weight and approach direction all affect how easily an item can cross the ramp.

Typical Applications

• Concert cable crossings

• Exhibition halls

• Conference venues

• Wedding events

• Corporate events

• Temporary AV installations

• Indoor performance venues

• Pedestrian routes

• Wheelchair-access routes

• Equipment-cart crossings

• Temporary power distribution

• Audio and lighting cable management

When Should You Choose This Wide Version?

Choose this type of cable protector when the crossing is part of an active pedestrian route and a conventional narrow cable ramp creates too abrupt a transition.

It is especially useful when:

• wheelchair users may cross the cable route

• small equipment carts need to pass

• the route is frequently used by event staff

• a broader and more gradual ramp surface is preferred

• several cables need to pass through one protected crossing

For an area used only by cables and occasional foot traffic, a smaller standard cable protector may occupy less floor space and be easier to transport.

That distinction is important because the wider version is not automatically the best choice for every event.

How to Check Whether Your Cables Fit

Before ordering, check:

1. Cable outside diameter

2. Number of cables

3. Whether several cables will share one channel

4. Connector size

5. Required crossing width

6. Whether carts or wheelchairs will cross the ramp

The cable itself may fit inside a 46×46mm channel while a large connector does not.

If cables have large plugs or fixed connectors, their dimensions should also be checked.

FAQ

What is the overall size of this cable protector ramp?

The ramp measures approximately 1270mm long × 900mm wide × 60mm high, or about 50 × 35.4 × 2.36in.

How large is each cable channel?

Each channel is approximately 46 × 46mm, or 1.81 × 1.81in.

How many cable channels does it have?

The illustrated configuration uses five cable channels.

Why is this ramp wider than a normal cable protector?

The wider side ramps create a more gradual crossing surface. This is useful where pedestrians, wheelchairs or suitable equipment carts need to cross the protected cable route.

Can wheelchair users cross this cable ramp?

The product is designed with broad side ramps and wheelchair markings and may be used in wheelchair-crossing layouts. However, no specific accessibility certification has been provided, so it should not be advertised as compliant with a particular standard.

Does the yellow section open?

Yes. The yellow center section is a hinged cover that provides access to the cable channels.

What cables can be placed inside?

Power, audio, speaker, network, lighting-control and other temporary-event cables may be suitable when their dimensions fit within the available channels.

Can I put several cables in one channel?

Possibly, depending on their outside diameters. The combined cable dimensions should remain suitable for the 46×46mm channel.

Can road cases or carts cross it?

The wide ramp geometry can make it more suitable for wheeled equipment than a steep narrow protector, but caster size, equipment weight and the product's verified load capacity should be considered.

Can cars or forklifts drive over it?

No vehicle-load rating has been provided in the current product information. Do not advertise it for vehicle or forklift traffic until a verified load specification is available.

Is the product suitable for outdoor events?

It may be used in temporary event cable-management applications, but the actual material, environmental conditions and surface condition should be confirmed for the intended installation.

Can the ramp size or channel configuration be customized?

Different cable-management configurations can be discussed according to the required cable sizes and crossing application.

Why Choose This Cable Protector Ramp

A cable protector should do more than simply hide cables.

The correct product needs to match:

• the cable size

• number of cables

• crossing traffic

• available floor space

• wheeled equipment

• pedestrian route

This wide version is particularly useful when the crossing itself needs to be easier to pass than a conventional narrow cable ramp.
